We Commissioned a Performance from HEWMAN

Like everything we do, we try to make the journey to swimming in the river as fun as humanly possible and build a community of people that can enjoy the process with us. This summer, we commissioned a performance by the modern dance collective HEWMAN for our supporters that premiered at the Summer Pool Party.

HEWMAN took inspiration from our collaboration with Cindy Sherman to create Cindy, a performance that refers to the artist’s early portraiture. Through the performances, the dancers dove into the waters of self-image, distortion, and subversion.

HEWMAN is a New York City-based collective of artists from multiple disciplines who collaborate to present dance in unusual places.
