Water Quality Testing
Friends of + POOL collects water quality data to inform the development of + POOL and ensure its filtration system is prepared to combat all fluctuations in the river. The organization is dedicated to making this data publicly accessible to all and has worked with a variety of partners to publicly disseminate water quality data in various ways.
Public Programs
Friends of + POOL hosts and participates in a variety of free public programs across New York City and around the world that share the data we have collected and the ways in which science has informed the design and development of + POOL. Our data has been shared in lectures, panels, workshops and conferences with such partners as the Waterfront Alliance, Storefront for Art and Architecture, Municipal Art Society, Columbia University, and Cornell University, among others.
Public Dashboard
Friends of + POOL has worked to publish water quality data in real-time through online public dashboards during summer testing. The organization has designed various platforms to disseminate data in visually compelling ways that explain the parameters by which we determine clean water. The organization has partnered with Google to share data in real-time.
