Floating an Idea: The + POOL Story Selected as 2018 SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards Finalist

SXSW selected Floating an Idea: The + POOL Story as a finalist for the SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards. The SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards showcase some of the most exciting tech projects in categories ranging from AI and digital design to health technology and beyond. So cool to be part of this group!

Produced by Tribeca Studios and m ss ng p eces for The Cities Project by Heineken, Floating an Idea: The + POOL Story tells the our story to date. It chronicles the history of New Yorkers interacting with their rivers, dating back to floating bathhouses in the early 1900s. Through interviews with loads (but not nearly all!) of the amazing people involved, the film explains how a floating, Olympic-sized pool called + POOL will filter out contaminants to create swimmable water and clean up to a half-million gallons of water each day. The film short is scored by DFA’s Museum of Love, and narrated by Neil Patrick Harris (!!!!!) A 360 VR piece accompanies the film and shows what it will be like to one day swim in the river.
