+ POOL

We gathered the design team and reviewed a 3D model of + POOL, created by our naval architects at Persak & Wurmfeld. The model shows how our filtration system is embedded within the pool and will help us build our intellectual property portfolio.

The model is a V.I.M (“Vessel Information Model”) that is used to design boats, which is pretty rad.  Persak & Wurmfeld came up with a couple options for the shape of the pool’s hull, that we’re still playing with a bit.  The model shows the piping, how all of our equipment fits in the hull, and how the water moves in and out of the pool — but the bulk of what we were trying to figure out through this model is how to weigh the pool down with water, how much weight it can take and how to ensure the pool remains buoyant with everything fit into it.  So we have lots of numbers that show how all that works.

Persak & Wurmfeld also ran a “Intact & Stability Study” and a “Damage Stability Test”.  So not only does our pool, with all the equipment float, we also know its extremely stable and even if you poke a hole in it, it won’t sink!
