A Message from NYC Mayor Eric Adams
For the past several years, we have been advocating for free and safe access to the rivers around NYC for swimming. We designed a safe way to access our rivers and now, we’re working backwards with the city to create a supportive regulatory environment in which river swimming can become commonplace in NYC.
Mayor Eric Adams says, “New York City has 520 miles of waterfront. That is 520 miles of economic and recreational opportunity. I support a vision of NYC where we can access the water that surrounds us. Since day one of my administration, we have been working with Friends of + POOL to identify the best pathway for safe waterway swimming in NYC.” View the full message from Major Eric Adams on Friends of + POOL here.
