Hosting our first Career Talk

On Jan 25, 2023 we hosted a career talk in partnership with Henry Street Settlement and the Lower East Side Employment Network to talk about career opportunities in the field of aquatics.

The event included a panel discussion with aquatics professionals, including Nora Cronin, Program Director at Friends of + POOL, Dion Best, Aquatics Director at Trinity Episcopal School, and Warren Perry, Aquatics Director at Convent of the Sacred Heart. The group shared their experiences learning to swim and working in the aquatics field, highlighting opportunities available for those who learn to swim. We shared open opportunities around the city for lifeguard jobs and registration information for + POOL’s learn-to-swim programs.  We also used this as an opportunity to understand from the community what kinds of training programs they might need to help get them started on the path to lifeguard certification and are working with our partners to design programs that will support those needs.
