Heineken's 'The Cities Project' Sponsors + POOL

+ POOL is a crazy project—it requires a ton of energy, investment, and consistent belief. Ever since we first met with Heineken back in 2015, they got it. They understood not only the vision of reclaiming the river for all of New York, but how we were going about it with + POOL. After a few conversations about what we needed to bring + POOL closer to reality, they were in—and we became the next project in The Cities Project initiative, which aims to bring positive changes to cities across the world by helping public initiatives come to life.

We announced our partnership on Earth Day (duh, perfect) through a short trailer, and a conversation with + POOL Board members Joshua David (Co-Founder of the High Line), and Andrew Essex (CEO of Tribeca Enterprises), and Tara Rush (Sr. Vice President of Heineken), moderated by Johanna Greenbaum (Sidewalk Labs) called Making Great Cities Greater.

Heineken is investing in + POOL in a number of ways that you can read about here, but they range from helping us launch the #swimintheriver petition to get 100K people to pledge to swim in the river (you can do it at swimintheriver.com) to a Tribeca Studios-led, Paula Weinstein-produced, and M SS NG P ECES made + POOL documentary. Plus, a beer every now and then!

Download the Press Release to learn more, and tell the world you’re one of 100,000 people that want to #swimintheriver here.
