+ POOL - Floating An Idea

Friends of + POOL, Tribeca Studios, m ss ng p eces and Heineken assess public perception of the river, raise awareness of the issues affecting our water quality, and advocate for free and safe access to the river by telling the story of + POOL to date in a 8 minute documentary short and a VR experience – both narrated by Neil Patrick Harris.

Documentary

The documentary, directed by Bianca Giaever of m ss ng p eces, walks viewers through the first chapters of our story. Each of the co-founders chime in, as well as our advisors and close friends, including Joshua David, one of the founders of New York City’s High Line park and our ‘Oracle.’ We’ve come along way from some hot kids wanting to swim in a clean river and we can’t wait to see the film once we’ve built the + POOL.

360 VR Video

A VR video directed Ray Tintori (also of m ss ng p eces), offers a rendering of how the pool might look if it were nestled between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges off Brooklyn Bridge Park in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighborhood. The video was a 2018 SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards Finalist, so we had the opportunity to share our little virtual river swim with friends from all over.

Both the documentary short and the VR direct viewers to www.swimintheriver.com, an online petition that invites anyone and everyone to pledge to swim in the river with + POOL.
